Professional Skills

During the courses at MPA program below are some of the skills that I learned.
Budgeting and Financial Analysis:
It was a great opportuity for me to
understand all aspects of budgeting a public or nonprofit executive is likely to encounter, specially for a nonprofit organization in San Francisco and the presentation of the findings. Additionally, being able to prepare and
understand budgetary information and undertake financial analysis. Another document is the Implementing Budget reform in Boston School department.
Human Resource Management:
This topic area includes as strategic understanding of the issues and trends in
human resource management, from job classifications and evaluation, to promoting diversity and exploring issues of work/life balance.
Additionally, it includes the ability to adhere to existing law, as well as being able to promote a diverse and productive workforce. I did have the opportunity to have an Independent Study class on Language diversity .
Research Methodologies and Statistics:
The ability to design and analyze qualitative and quantitative research projects. It also includes the ability to discern the quality of information and the validity of data.During the summer of 2007 , I did interview 13 NGOs in San Francisco and a report with the findings will be sent to them very soon.
