Assistant Professor

Urban Studies/Urban Policy

The Urban Studies Program seeks to fill a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to begin September 2000.

Minimum qualifications include an earned Ph. D. in Policy Analysis or a related discipline and demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, research and community service.

The successful candidate will regularly teach undergraduate courses in policy analysis, data analysis and the Urban Studies Senior Seminar (the capstone course in which students produce consulting projects for local clients). The new faculty member will also teach courses in one or more additional urban policy areas. The Program seeks applicants committed to interdisciplinary applied undergraduate teaching in Urban Studies.

San Francisco State University is a major urban university within the California State University system. The Urban Studies Program is an interdisciplinary program within the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. The program offers a BA degree in Urban Studies with emphases in urban policy and urban planning. Further information about the program can be obtained at http://www.sfsu.edu/~urbstu/index.htm.
