Knowledge of Public Administration

Identifying and providing potential solutions to incredibly complex social problems is the cornerstone of public administration. If one seeks to address these problems, it helps to be highly inquisitive. During my coursework, I have researched several intriguing topics, and gained a considerable amount of both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the process. Public Policy

As a social worker for Merced County, I became aware of the growing prevalence of methamphetamine use among many of the families with which I was engaged, and decided to research the matter further.

 

Succession Planning

With the Baby Boomer generation closer to retirement, I began to wonder how public agencies could remain competitive in recruiting and retaining skilled workers in the face of a potential labor shortage, so I interviewed a Human Resources professional about succession planning strategies.
