Personal Statement

ggbridgeWelcome to my online portfolio. If you are reading this, you are (hopefully) interested in what I can bring to your organization. As a freshly-minted M.P.A. graduate, I am currently in the process of prioritizing my career goals. Although I have a strong inclination toward policy analysis, my heart belongs to public management. As such, I am interested in program management- both implementation and evaluation.

While I possess a strong analytical background, I also have extensive experience in customer service and case management. In the M.P.A. program, I have developed a keen understanding of human resource management, organizational behavior, and strategic planning. The highlight of my studies at SFSU was the opportunity to present an argument to the Civil Service Commission regarding the re-classification of fire fighter/paramedics made by the City and County of San Francisco's Human Resources Department.

In addition to management principles, I have acquired a comprehensive set of skills that facilitate analysis, pertaining to: budgeting, microeconomics, cost-benefit analysis, statistics, and research design. Extensive group work has also helped me improve my communication skills - both oral and written.

cornwellFinally, with an ethos of public service at its core, the program instills in its students the indispensability of maintaining an ethical approach to management. I believe that this combination of skill, experience, and mindset makes me a valuable member of any organization. I look forward to joining your team.
