The CSU and SFSU policy require that all employees be given breaks during the work period. The following schedule applies to student employees:

  • 4-5 hour shift: One 15 minute paid break

     

  • 5-7 hour shift: One 15 minute paid break and one mandatory 30 minute unpaid meal period

     

  • 8 hour shift: Two 15 minute paid breaks and one mandatory 30 minute unpaid meal period
