Titles- text and credits

There is a variety of formats for text on the screen in iMovie.

The clip on the stage has a CENTERED title. There are a variety of title styles available, some have variations within the style. In the title menu above, the carrot(>) next to "Centered" is point down showing the options in that style. "Clip to Characters" also has style options but they won't show until you click on the carrot to reveal them.

SCROLL through the titles to see what is available. Select one and type your text into the boxes where "My great movie" and other text place holders appear.

You can adjust color, font and text size. Like transitions titles will not attach to clips that are too short or too close to the beginning or end of your movie. ADJUST TIMING with the SPEED and PAUSE sliders.

Use PREVIEW to see what your title will look like before applying it to your movie. When you have it the way you like it, drag the T and drop it onto the clip that you want to see the title over.

Titles RENDER like transitions render. Wait until the little red bar disappears below the transition clip before you try to see your new title in the movie.

Tiles, text and credits can appear anywhere in your movie. There are rolling credits for the end, music video, twirling text and many other options. Be careful not to overuse titles. Too much text will distract from your video.

Now that you have your movie edited, titled and credited it's time to show the world! On to 8. Saving and Sharing
