Team Work/Leadership

Facilitating collaboration is difficult for the novice, but for one who has been through the process and understands the foundations of a successful team the skill is almost second nature. While working on a team, one has to identify when it is appropriate to lead and or not to lead. Team work as a skill is becoming increasingly necessary due to the increase reliance on employees to collaborate on projects. The MPA program ensured team work skills were developed through assignments in each of its courses.

The Policy Analysis course term paper illustrates a completed product of one of my team projects.  This project assigned the task to generate a policy recommendation on the most feasible method for the city to reducing congestion in downtown San Francisco.  We engendered collective thought to identify an approach to the policy question and how to devise an appropriate recommendation, politically feasible to reduce congestion in downtown San Francisco.
