Adaptive Technology ProgramRoom 109, Student Services BuildingEmail: adaptive@sfsu.edu415/338-2472 Voice/TTY 415/338-1041 Fax Direct ServicesWorkstationsThe Disability Programs and Resource Center (DPRC) directly supports and maintains computer workstations on campus that contain adaptive software and hardware, such as screenreading software, voice-recognition software, CCTVs, Braille translation software and embossers. For a current list of locations and specific adaptive technology available, please visit the Adaptive Technology Locations page. TrainingTraining on adaptive computer software/hardware is available through the DPRC to students and employees with disabilities. Students and employees must first meet with a DPRC staff member before being referred for the training. The type and amount of training provided is determined on a case-by-case basis. Adaptive Technology Support for the CampusCampus units with Adaptive Technology in their area may request consultation and ancillary technical support by the DPRC. Staff members in the DPRC work with the campus community on an ongoing basis to develop and implement additional computer access wherever needed. DPRC staff also work with representatives from the Division of Information Technology (DOIT), The Center for Teaching and Faculty Development (CTFD), and University Communications to develop access standards for web design and electronic instructional delivery.
