A Consideration of the Relationship of Art to Emerging Research

Research has become a critical center of cultural development.  It is important that artists become active in monitoring and shaping frontier areas of research.  This site is devoted to providing resources so artists can learn about important areas of emerging technological and scientific research.

The topics covered represent areas of research that I have been following to varying degrees.  This list is suggestive; there are many other areas that deserve attention.  Please feel free to send suggestions.

Two papers which elaborate this theme of artist involvement in research in more detail are available at the Wilson website. Also the book Information Arts:Intersections of Art, Science, and Technology considers these issues in some depth.
