The purpose of the Hospitality Management Society is to provide community service and networking opportunities between students, faculty and related industry professionals. Additionally, HMS will foster social and academic growth and award scholarships to qualified members.

The Hospitality Management Society was first created with the purpose of enhancing the experience of all Hospitality Management majors at SFSU. Our main focus is to provide our students with a unique opportunity to network with one another as well as with industry representatives.

HMS fosters an environment of respect and professionalism, while giving members a chance to socialize and meet with each other and to exchange experiences. We feel that the students we meet today at SFSU may become our future colleagues and professional alliance in the hospitality industry. Thus, it is increasingly important for us to get to know each other and to form lasting friendships that will help us all achieve our goals.

We also like to think of HMS as a bridge between the students and the hospitality industry. We focus our efforts in developement of industry activities that are of interest and a good learning experience to our students. These activities include tours to various hotels, restaurants, wineries, as well as social events and other opportunities to communicate with industry representatives. These activities allow us to keep in touch with this very active and synergistic industry.

We would like to invite every one of the Hospitality Management students to join HMS. Your participation and support is absolutely vital for this organization.
