CLSA Welcome Events - the details

On behalf of the Comparative Literature Student Association I would like to invite you to join us for both of our welcome events this fall. Whether you are new to the program, a returning student or a graduated comparatist, we hope to see you there. Bring your expertise and your questions, or just plan to have fun getting to know the others in the program…

Thursday, August 31st at 7:30 p.m. Welcome pub-night
Philosopher’s Club - 824 Ulloa Street at the West Portal MUNI station.

Friday, September 8th at 8:00 p.m. Welcome Back Pizza Party!
Party at Sophie Sapp’s! Join us for food, drinks, music, academic debauchery, general comparisons (of literature, professors, pizza, whatever) and sodas. *Bonus incentive: you will not be required to wear a nametag to this awesome party.

We hope to see you there!
Rachel

Upcoming Events

Upcoming CLSA events in August and September

We have a few events scheduled to welcome new students to the Comparative Literature program as well as returning students, and we hope to see you there! We'll raise a glass to our buddies studying abroad who are already missed, (but who are always welcome to leave a comment below about how they wish they were here instead of say, Paris or Chile or Israel).

Meanwhile, some dates and locations are TBD, so please check back for updates later this week. Don't be shy! Come and compare with us! And have a great first week.

Hosted by Sophie

CLSA 2006-2007

With still a few more weeks to go before the semester gets started, I don't have any exciting updates for the CLSA blog so I thought I'd just let all our devout readers know who the new officers are in the CLSA for the 2006-2007 school year:

President: Rachel Gibson

Vice Presidents of University Relations: Will Arighi and Ana Gutierrez

Vice Presidents of Portals: Jessie Ferguson and Sophie Sapp

And a reminder to all our second year MA students looking to graduate in May:

Graduate Approved Program (GAP) Form Due to our Comparative Literature Department: 10/02/2006

  • Form must be turned in by the deadline in order to enroll in the Culminating Experience course the following semester.
  • Form located at: http://www.sfsu.edu/~gradstdy/current-form.htm

More to follow...have a great remainder of the summer!
