50 Years of Beta Chi
Posted: August 10th, 2014
2014 is the year our chapter turns 50! To celebrate, we are hosting a spectacular banquet event at the Prescott Hotel for members, alumni, faculty, and professionals. The event is set for December 12th, from 6-9pm, with an excpected attendance of 80-100 people. We are very excited to announce that Jan Morris, who is this year transitioning out of her role as President of the national board of Beta Alpha Psi, will be speaking at the event.
Since the evening is all about the history of Beta Chi, alumni who held officer positions will be honored with a ceremony. Strengthening and revitalizing our alumni network is one of our biggest goals for the event. This means we are actively looking for alumni who have lost touch with the chapter. If you are a Beta Chi alum', we would highly appreciate your support in attending and/or reaching out to BAPsters with whom you went to school. Note that the event is free for all alumni.
Stay tuned for more details!
Check Out The Calendar!
Posted: August 13th, 2014
Events for the semester are now posted onto the calendar (under the events tab and on the homepage sidebar). These include our own events as well as any from ASO and Ascend which are
open to our members. The presentations and gatherings listed are by no means all that will be held this fall. Several more are being finalized. We have,
however, made a big effort this summer to provide everyone with more dates sooner, to help with planning. In the coming weeks, more detailed descriptions
will be added. Check our the new Highlights page (posts coming soon) to learn even more about events and the organizations Beta Chi partners with for them.
Thanks for your patience. We hope you like what we have lined up so far, and please let us know what types of events you think we should add.
Your input is very important.
New Committee System
Posted: June 21st, 2014
This coming fall, a new, more formalized committee system will be implemented. Geared towards candidates,
it will both increase the effectiveness of our chapter and help to incorporate those newest to the organization.
There will be two committees-- one for events and one for fundraising. This system furthers our objective
of providing leadership opportunities to all members.
