The first two Air Jordan basketball shoes
featured a "winged basketball" logo. This logo was designed by Bruce Kilgore
in 1985. The Air Jordan 1 featured the "winged basketball" logo on the top
outside, at approximately ankle level. The Air Jordan 2 featured the same
logo, but moved it to the tongue of the shoe.
The Jumpman logo was indroduced in 1988 after
Jordan won the 1987 N.B.A. Slam Dunk Contest, which he jumped from the freethrow
to regain his title. It was designed by Peter Moore.
