TimeFrames

Webcam Shots Synchronized to NPR Newsfeeds

TimeFrames uses motion detection to capture frames based on movement of at least 50% at an interval of 2 second lookups. Frames are presented side-by-side with NPR headline links to audio newsfeeds that appeared on the internet at the same time. The user is challenged to think about the juxtaposition of our lives with events happening in the news. Are we aware of anything outside our own lives? Is the news just background noise to us? Can we trust the news sources we listen to? Are we empathetic and concerned or just tuned in but not listening?
