I am currently working on a project that focuses on the issue of optimal sampling design. My project explores the concept of aggregation and how this may influence one's choice in sampling method. I am creating and running simulations of sampling for aggregated populations and comparing the accuracy of estimating population mean and variance for various sampling techniques.

I am assessing the performance of inference methods for phylogeny and gene-flow history against simulated populations. I am also engaged in research with Serkan Hosten (Mathematics) into the properties of algebraic statistical models for phylogenetic trees.
