Exercise
I love weights, Pilates, and Yoga, but an exercize routine is not complete
without
getting the
heart-rate up, so for serious cardiovascular activity,
I load up free weekly updated DJ mixes from fitPod
Web site to my Treo 600.
Turkish
Cultural Program
A hidden
secret in the San Francisco Bay Area
is the Turkish Cultural Program produced every Saturday
from 6:00 PM & 8:00 PM on KUSF, 90.3 FM. I and my husband
host the program live first and second Saturday of every
month. We love Turkish music, and we do our best in
translating song titles to our audience in case they
are interested in acquiring some of our
favorite songs for their collection.
You can
also listen to the Turkish
Cultural Program via internet at Live365. If you missed the program,
visit the Turkish Cultural
Program Archives.

more, volunteer, or provide us your
much needed financial support, please visit the

Web
Surfing
I often
surf the Web for keeping myself up to date with
domestic and international news. Here is a list of my favorite Web sites:
I am a fan of watching C-Span, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,
and Frontline by hooking up my laptop to my television with an S-Video cable.
On weekends, Murat & I watch soccer news by tuning into
video broadcasting from Turkey.
MP3 downloads to my Handspring Treo 600 often keep me away from boredom during my long commute. "Democracy Now!" & "The
World" audio archives provide
a very efficient way to learn about the hidden stories around the
world which are always omitted on the mainstream media.
"World
Affairs Council" audio archives are a great way to absorb thoughts
of political leaders and mainstream authors of the day.
"World
Press Review" is another favorite of mine, because
it features strict, and rather accurate translations
of high profile articles featured in newspapers around the world.
Judged
on the grounds of its independence and free thought,
the best newspaper in the Turkish press is without
a doubt "Cumhuriyet,"
which requires a paid
subscription for viewing full text of articles.
While Cumhuriyet
subscription is certainly worth the money,
"Cumok"
Web site, which includes commentary from
Cumhuriyet columnists and Cumhuriyet readers
is an excellent free alternative to remain current
with complicated dynamics in Turkish domestic
& international politics.
