Health Education and Access Link (HEAL)
Health Education and Access Link (HEAL), a new organization
on the SF State campus, seeks to promote increased access to healthcare by helping low-income people enroll in low-cost health insurance or apply for state and federally funded insurance. This semester, we will be working with the SF Health Plan to insure people who can't afford medical insurance and with the Diabetes Association to promote health screenings, as well as help other community health clinics. We also promote health education, and aim to educate people on preventative measures that would equip them in preventing disease. HEAL acts as a health network for the uninsured by providing them with links to the health world through community clinics and other disease prevention resources. Feel free to email us at heal@sfsu.edu. Contact Stella at evega98@yahoo.com or BinhTam Ha at bnhtmkha@sfsu.edu for more information on how you can become a member of HEAL.
