Welcome to HSA!
Dear students,
As president of the History Students Association, I would
like to welcome you to another year at San Francisco State University.
If you have not done so yet, I would also like to encourage you
to join the H.S.A. by joining our email
list.
The H.S.A. is composed of both undergraduate and
graduate students at SFSU who would like to further their historical
knowledge and meet other history students. We have regular meetings
throughout the semester, in addition to movie nights, student
research conferences and much more. There is a rich and large
community of history scholars and students at SFSU and we encourage
you to take part in what it has to offer.

Key Academic Dates - Fall 2008
08/26 Fall semester begins.
09/01 HSA Meeting at 2:00 in SCI 270.
09/05 Labor Day, no classes.
09/05 Party for new and returning graduate students at 3:30 in SCI 270.
09/06 Memorial service for Prof. Tygiel at 2:00 in the Seven Hills Conference Center.
09/08 First day of Monday-only classes.
09/11 HSA Meeting at 11:30 in SCI 270.
09/11 7th Annual Jules Tygiel Forum on Post 9/11 World Affairs, from 2-4:30, in SCI 270, hosted by Prof. Behrooz.
09/17 Constitution Day
09/26 Application deadline for January graduation.
09/tba Movie day w/ free grub! Movie TBA,
SCI 270 time TBA, Commentary TBA
10/03 HSA Meeting at 2:00 in SCI 270.
10/09 HSA Meeting at 11:30 in SCI 270.
10/15 Application deadline for spring admission
to SFSU
History Masters program.
10/31 Halloween Party, with a historical costume contest, a screening of 'Sweeney Todd', and historical perspectives on Halloween.
11/11 Veteran's Day, no classes.
11/24-28 Thanksgiving, no classes.
12/15 Last day of regular classes.
12/16-22 Finals.
