The Gamers’ Conclave is a student organization at San Francisco State University,
with membership open to everyone. You don’t have to be an SFSU
student! We just want to get as many people together having as much fun as
possible.
Our
purpose is to encourage gaming of all kinds – board games, card
games, role playing games, video games, live action games, parlor games,
video games, war games, anything! We provide a safe and comfortable
location for people to gather, socialize, enjoy their favorite games, and
try some new ones.
We think
games are an important part of a healthy life – they give you a
chance to be creative, to think tactically, to meet new people, and to
build skills like concentration and teamwork that are essential in any
career. And we’re not the only people who think so! Here are some
famous quotes about games and gaming.
“People don’t
quit playing games because they grow old. They grow old because they quit
playing games.” – Oliver
Wendell Holmes
“You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a
year of conversation.” – Plato
“Games lubricate the body and the mind.” – Benjamin
Franklin
“Man is most nearly himself when he achieves the seriousness of a
child at play.” – Heraclitus
“Have you ever noticed that the people who are always trying to tell
you, ‘There’s a time for work and a time for play,’ never
find the time for play?” – Unknown
