NSPRI has offered solar power related internships in the past. Whether NSPRI will offer internships in the future wull be made on a year-to-year basis.
Many universities conduct research into solar power and related topics. If you are a student, you should contact faculty at the following departments: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, product design, physics, chemistry and environmental studes departments. Your campus may also have special interdisciplinary areas as well.Possitions at these departments are sometimes open to non-students and students from other universities.
Some large petroleum companies have major solar power divisions. They may be worth contacting. The names of the companies change every few years (generally due to mergers and acquisitions), so locating the cuurent company name could require a little work.
Utility companies often have alternative energy programs. Such programs range from operating renwable energy sources, to development to outreach and education.
Science Museums often create alternative energy demonstrations and also offer internships. Many of these internships are unpaid. The paid internships are fairly competitive, so apply early.
