Announcement of Summer 1998 

LOCAL AND LONG-DISTANCE
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
FOR SCIENTISTS AND SCIENCE STUDENTS
 

Bolster your career, get more out of life and help get the word out about the environment! Enroll in the Summer 1999 Solar Academy.  

Participants should acquire the following skills and areas of knowledge:  

  • Attributes of leadership and vital leadership skills
  • Viewing "the big picture" in an organization
  • Reviving and turning around projects and organizations
  • Basic knowledge of selected project management techniques
  • Organizing details into time-efficient processes
  • Establishing training and mentorship programs
  • The ability to respond with an intelligent and relevant answer to ANY question

OPTION ONE -- Leadership Development Only


3 hours per week. For those with limited time who still wish to enhance their leadership and management skills. Although your name will not appear on our summer environmental report, NSPRI will still certify your participation in the program.

OPTION TWO -- Leadership Development and Environmental Study


6 hours per week. In addition to engaging in leadership skills development, participants in this option will contribute their thoughts and some library research towards the development of a one sheet and also an 8 page pamphlet describing the current state of the environment as well as major trends. You will receive research or co-authorship credit.

GENERAL


This program is for university students and alumni. Participation is on a volunteer basis, but there is no cost to participate.
